Package & Label Design in Castlegar, BC

Incube8 Creative is a package and label design studio based right here in Castlegar. We help local food producers, from home-kitchen hot sauce makers to growing spice and rub brands, create packaging that looks as good as their product tastes and is ready for store shelves across Canada.

Custom packaging for Castlegar food brands

Your label is often the first thing a customer sees at the farmers market or on a grocery shelf. We design packaging that grabs attention, tells your story and makes your product easy to recognize the second time around. From a single jar label to a full product line, we build designs that grow with your brand.

  • Spice blends, rubs and seasonings: jar labels, pouches and tins in a consistent family look
  • Hot sauce, BBQ sauce and marinades: bold bottle labels with space for heat levels and pairings
  • Jams, jellies, honey and pickles: jar labels and lid toppers with a local, handcrafted feel
  • Coffee, tea, granola and baked goods: bags, boxes and sleeves for retail and wholesale
  • Craft drinks: can, bottle and case designs

Labels built around Canadian food labelling rules

Prepackaged food sold in Canada must follow labelling rules enforced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The CFIA doesn’t pre-approve labels, so getting it right is the producer’s responsibility, and a mistake can mean a costly reprint. We design with the required elements in place from the start, including:

  • Bilingual English and French text where required
  • Common name and net quantity in metric units on the principal display panel
  • Ingredient list plus allergen and gluten statements
  • Nutrition Facts table, and the front-of-package “high in” nutrition symbol required since January 1, 2026 for foods high in saturated fat, sugars or sodium
  • Dealer name and address, best-before date and lot code placement

We flag anything that needs your attention before files go to print, and recommend a final check with the CFIA’s Industry Labelling Tool.

Local, hands-on and easy to work with

Because our studio is in Castlegar, we can meet in person, look at your product and printing options together, and turn around revisions quickly. You get one designer from concept to print-ready files, and we can also handle your logo, branding and website.

Frequently asked questions

Are your labels CFIA approved?

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) does not pre-approve food labels; producers are responsible for making sure their labels comply. We design your labels around CFIA labelling requirements and flag anything that needs your attention, and we recommend a final check with the CFIA Industry Labelling Tool before printing.

Do my food labels need to be bilingual?

Most prepackaged food sold in Canada must show mandatory label information in both English and French. Some exemptions exist, for example for certain local foods, so check which rules apply to your product before printing.

Do I need the front-of-package nutrition symbol?

Since January 1, 2026, prepackaged foods that meet or exceed set levels of saturated fat, sugars or sodium must display the front-of-package “high in” nutrition symbol, unless an exemption applies. We plan room for it in your design when needed.

What types of packaging do you design?

Jar and bottle labels, pouches, tins, boxes, sleeves, roll labels and can or case packaging. We deliver print-ready files for your printer or label supplier.
